!Speakers
~~~~~~~~~
NOTE: This application is in the Public Domain but at all times I retain
the copyright of this application and as such no alterations may be made
to the contents of this application is any way, shape or form.
However, you may distribute the application free of charge so long as:
a) the application is not changed in any way
b) you do not sell this application for profit
c) the application is distributed in its original state
Good, got rid of that!
The idea of !Speakers is to provide an icon on the icon bar that will enable
the internal speakers to be switched on and off with the minimum of fuss in
the desktop and show the dynamic state of the speakers when other programs (such
as !Symphony) may change it.
Just click on the loudspeaker icon and it will toggle the state of the
speakers. The icon shows whether the speakers are on or off by showing a tick
or a cross in the loudspeaker. Speakers also detects when other programs change
the status of the speakers by intercepting the *Speaker command and the relavent
SWI calls. This involves a patch to the SoundDMA module. Please note that Acorn
retain copyright of this module and hence it must not be distributed even in its
patched form.
Note that this application really only works in Risc OS 3.1 machines. It may
well work on Risc OS 3.5 (Risc PC) machines but only if the SoundDMA module is
the same as in 3.1 (unlikely).
This application supports the DeskSave protocol and automatically detects if
your desktop is set up for 3D or normal windows/icons. To change the current
state, use Toggle3/2D which can be found in the application's directory.
Bugs: None that I can find... yet!
Things to do: Get someone to do something about those horrible icons (any
takers please?)
